Running a community is a lot of manual work, time and energy.
That’s why automation exists. It takes the pressure off of your shoulders while boosting the overall member experience.
But it can really feel like a massive headache when things go wrong.
New members aren’t getting added to your CRM system. You accidentally removed some of your members. Your members keep getting the same email over an over. You don’t know why this is happening or how to fix it.
That’s why I created Automate Community.
Inside Automate Community, you get unlimited support on helping you with these tech headaches. When something goes wrong, or you need some automation advice, you just put up a post and we will help you fix it. Plus, you actually learn how to overcome these automation issues and develop skills to build more efficient community functions.
If you’re a community builder who struggles with automation, Automate Community is there for you.
We always want to spend less and get more back.
More time to care for our members. More income for our community business. More energy to overcome the next challenge.
The great thing about automation is you set it up and then it runs for you. It’s like having a team of dedicated personal assistants handling all the manual work, but way more efficient and for a much lower expense. And the potential for what you can automate is vast.
Want a seamless sign up experience? You got it.
Wish you could reward members for engagement? No problem.
Need a one-off old member accounts cleanse? Easy.
Whether you have great ideas or need a little inspiration - Automate Community will show you examples of what you can achieve in your community with automation and how to set them up efficiently.
Do you remember learning how to swim? That first time breathing in water sucks.
You had all these limbs that had to get to work together just to keep you above water. But you weren’t just throw into the deep end (at least I hope you weren’t).
You had an instructor, shallow water to learn in and, if you were lucky, a couple of floating aids.
Learning new tech can feel a bit like trying to swim. It’s overwhelming, a challenge to work out and make us feel a stupid.
But Automate Community is the instructor, the shallow warer and the floating aids - no matter your experience, we’ll help you bring your automations together step by step.
"Working with Stephen was exactly what I was looking for. He took my vision and expanded upon it, and dreamed up an automation schedule that runs smoothly and effortlessly. He even planned for a variety of hiccups and troubles that I couldn't see, and adjusted the automations to ensure things went smoothly. He was extremely communicative, kind, and patient throughout the entire process. He took an enormous load off of my shoulders by making the on-boarding and off-boarding process for my community incredibly easy and streamlined. Highly recommend that you work with Stephen for all of your automation needs."

“I joined Automate Community as we already have quite a big community but still a load of manual workload. I want to automate as much as possible in order to reduce workload and to maximize customers experience.
I already gained a load of inspiration about automation possibilities. Even if it’s not all relevant to my community model, I see lots of potential for our community. Step by step I will follow the very practical guidance of Stephen. What I really like most is the practical parts that I can adapt to my community and Stephens great support if I still have a question. Much appreciated! I'm more than satisfied that I will gain huge benefits out of this community. Thanks a lot!”

"Stephen is evidently knowledgable and passionate about the value of automation as a key part of building scalable communities. I've joined Stephen's community because we're about to launch our community as a core element of how we work with clients. Over time, I want to automate everything that can be automated in order to spend my limited time on personal interactions with members, not wasting time in routine admin that should have been automated.
I joined the Automate Community because setting up automation can be complicated and overwhelming. Since I am just starting off with building my community and have limited funding to hire a team, I have to do most of the work myself. Fortunately, I met Stephen through another community I was in. I found him to be an expert in automation, and he has been extremely helpful in providing guidance and advice to members. I was excited to learn that he started his own community, so I immediately joined. I am grateful that he created his learning platform!"

"I've already received great support from Stephen as I've connected our newsletter platform with a Google sheet database via Make.com. Without Stephen's encouragement I would simply have defaulted to Zapier and remained unaware of the terrific capabilities of Make.com. I now have greater confidence that I will have the support and encouragement I'll need to automate more and more of the routine aspects of our new community in the months ahead.
I have found being a part of this community to be a great relief. Stephen has been extremely helpful in answering any of my questions and providing guidance with any automation requests I have. He also provides a custom guide to next steps for each person who joins the community, which has been a great starting point for me. If you are considering automation, I highly recommend joining this community!"

I save busy community builders time by optimising their workflows and automating their processes, giving them that well needed moment to breathe.
Back in 2020, I first started building communities by scaling a monetised gaming community and gained acknowledgment from the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme. In 2021, I took the coaching approach to support educational creators in launching profitable communities across the travel, education, and lifestyle industries. By 2022, I started working with an ecommerce fintech to create tailored community strategies and dynamic content systems. My focus finally shifted to community automations in 2023, when I started consulting and building automated systems for community builders who wanted reliable solutions to their struggles with manual community tasks.
Building communities is as much about understanding technology as it is about people. I bring both my background in community building and technical automation into Automate Community, so that our members can build solutions that truly resonate with their community's unique model and audience.
This is the life of a community builder. We’re all super busy and that’s fine.
Automate Community isn’t there to give you extra work. It’s there to save you time in your community work.
The unlimited support, workshops, courses and library are all there to help you build a more scalable and effective community, so that you can focus on delivering value to your members.
The more you actively participate, the more you gain from the Automate Community, but it’s also enough to just use the community for inspiration or troubleshooting.
You don’t need to be there every week, but even a single well built automation could save you more time than you know.
"I booked a couple sessions with Stephen to help me get some automations up and running and it was a business game changer for me. I’m very intimidated by Zapier and Stephen demystified everything. When I went into the call, I didn’t even know what exactly I needed, but he was able to brainstorm automated solutions quickly that will save me so much time. I was deeply impressed by his knowledge, patience and problem solving. Highly recommend."

How long do I need to be a member before I gain value?
You can start learning and building as soon as you join. This is a resource for you to use when you need it. Even if you just build one good automation from what you learn, the ROI on time that you gain back is typically much higher than the membership fee you paid to join. A single good automation can save you hours of time across a year.
The more you are active in the community however, the more time and money you can save through the knowledge you learn. By attending workshops, you are going to be physically developing automation skills that you probably won’t learn on your own. By being a regular member, you get continual access to all the knowledge I have about automations and how to implement them as community solutions, as well as all the ongoing resource updates in the automation library and courses.
How much is it to join Automate Community?
Currently the membership is £49 per month or £490 per year. You can cancel your subscription at any time and come and go as you please.
What’s your refund policy?
If you change your mind about your membership within 14 days of purchasing, we’ll give you a full refund. It’s important to us that you gain value from this community as it’s there to help you grow and save time.
I don’t yet run an online community, can I join?
If you’re planning to launch a community soon, then for sure you can still gain value. However, it’s important that you actually launch your community as a priority and not get too caught up in automations. The key is knowing what automations to implement and when. You should avoid going too heavy at the beginning and instead use the feedback given to you by members and your own experiences to create automations that support your community as you feel the need to do so.
Are these one size, fits all solutions?
Definitely not. Automations need to be customised to your community model and audience. What works for a freemium community model won’t completely work for a membership model. The logic is similar, but the actually automations need to be set up in different ways. The community can help you tweak the automation templates to suit your specific community needs and ensure that they make sense for you to implement.
Do I need to have a paid community to benefit from automation?
No, automation is incredibly useful for any digital community, however the cost and effort you put in needs to make financial sense to you. Automation comes with a cost, so you should have that offset somehow. A freemium model is a better option so that you can recuperate some of those costs.
